About Yukon Garage Door Co

Where We Travel

We're based at 1010 Garth Brooks Blvd in Yukon, OK, and most of our calls stay close to home. A lot of the houses we work on went up between 1959 and 1999, with the median build year sitting around 1970, and that shows up in the hardware - older torsion setups, panels that don't match anything on a shelf at the big box store, openers that have outlived three remotes.

We run out to Surrey Hills, about 5 miles northeast, more than almost anywhere else, just because of how close it sits. From there we cover Bethany and Warr Acres a few miles out, then further to Mustang, Piedmont, El Reno, and Union City, each around 9 to 11 miles depending on which side of Yukon you start from. The Village and Nichols Hills are a bit of a haul at 12 and 13 miles, and we'll still take those calls. Tuttle, Minco, Forest Park, Okarche, and Del City sit out at 14 to 19 miles - we go, but we plan the day around it rather than treating it like a quick stop between other jobs.

If you're outside this stretch, call first. We'd rather tell you honestly that you're a long drive than show up late because we underestimated it.

Work We Turn Down

We don't do new garage construction - framing, header work, that's a different trade and a different license than ours. If your door opening needs to be built from scratch, we're not the crew for it.

We also won't patch a spring system that's clearly at the end of its life just to save you money today. On a lot of the 1960s and 70s builds across this area, the original torsion hardware is worn past the point where a single part fixes it - the drum, the shaft, and the spring are all tired at once. Replacing one piece and leaving the rest is a callback waiting to happen, and we'd rather tell you the real number up front than hand you a door that fails again in a year.

Parts for some of the older door models are slow to get - a few weeks isn't unusual for a specific panel or a discontinued opener board. If your door is a common brand and age, we can usually turn a repair around fast. If it's an odd one, we'll say so before we start, not after.

The Short Version

Yukon Garage Door Co works on garage doors, openers, springs, tracks, and panels, based out of Yukon, OK. The area runs mostly owner-occupied houses - 28,576 of them out of roughly 48,036 households across the territory we cover - with a median household income around $87,250. That matters less for the sales pitch and more for the kind of doors we see: solid, older, well-kept, not disposable.

The climate here is cold-moderate, which means winter stiffens grease and shrinks metal just enough to turn a marginal spring into a snapped one. We see that pattern every year.

Call 1405-337-9845 if a door's stuck, off track, or making a noise it shouldn't. We'll tell you what's actually wrong before we tell you what it costs.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on older torsion spring systems from the 1960s and 70s?

Yes - a large share of the houses in this area were built between 1959 and 1999, with a lot clustered in the 60s and 70s, so older torsion setups are most of what we see day to day. We carry common replacement parts, though some older or discontinued models take longer to source.

How far out do you travel from Yukon?

We cover Surrey Hills (5 miles), Bethany and Warr Acres (7-8 miles), and out to Mustang, Piedmont, El Reno, and Union City around 9-11 miles. We'll also go to Tuttle, Minco, Forest Park, Okarche, and Del City, 14-19 miles out, though those take more planning.

Will cold weather affect my garage door?

This area sits in a cold-moderate climate band, and winter temperatures stiffen grease and shrink metal enough that a spring already near the end of its life is more likely to snap in cold months. If your door's been slow or noisy, it's worth a look before winter, not after.

Do you build new garage openings?

No. New construction and framing work is outside what we do - that's a different license and skill set. We handle repair, replacement, and installation on existing garage door systems.
